Coaching is a beneficial method to improve the performance of employees and increase productivity. The best leaders are able to coach clients or team members to help them adapt to new situations, develop skills and increase their efficiency.

Fear can inhibit an employee's performance so finding methods to reduce their fear can improve performance and help achieve company goals. A coach should work with clients to learn their fears and help find ways to address them.

Active listening means listening carefully, understanding and being able to repeat what someone says. As a coach, it is extremely important to listen to clients to learn what challenges them. This helps discover which skills to coach the clients to develop. Listening promotes trust and dependability because clients know you care about their opinions.


- Brainstorming: Involves a group of people and helps a team collaborate and take part in the decision-making process.

- Mind mapping: This allows you to visualize the problem by drawing and connecting it to potential solutions including details of how to implement the resolution.

- Storyboarding: Helps visualize a process and potential outcomes by drawing a story of the problem and resolutions.


In the case of Jason Brown (Ensoulee), there was initial fear around the possibility of getting his business idea off the ground. I could tell by our initial discussion that Ensoulee was something he was very passionate about but just wasn't sure where to start. We began working together to build a complete model of what he envisioned through bi-weekly discussions, which enabled me to understand for far along in the planning he was and also offer inputs where I could see potential gaps moving forward. Providing coaching, inspiration, and valuable insights can do wonders for the confidence. Along the way we learned of the current hurdles in the online dating community. Jason has taken the bull by the horns and is now building a functional platform. He is not only creating the platform but has assembled a team and has also completed his incorporation paperwork.
